Actually, most of the people I'm around would not agree with that. Additionally, the special prosecutor has insinuated that conviction is the best and likely only deterant from this kind of thing again.

Yes, I know some people that would not agree, but most of them would not be happy with a lifetime ban from holding office either. They would not see that as a win - win. They believe the fat lies that he has done nothing wrong. They want to see him vindicated, not go away like a dog with it's tail between it's legs.
