I have said from early on that Netanyahu and his war cabinet are the biggest recruitment for Hamas that Hamas could ever hope for.
Hamas is an ideology that is becoming a self fulfilling prophecy. under Israel's current government. The vast majority of Hamas fighters are orphaned Palestinian men. The killing of Palestinians only creates more orphans. Thus far the current conflict has likely created 18,000 orphans as a result of nearly 30,000 deaths. That is a pretty large pool of potential recruits that Netanyahu, et al have given Hamas in 4 months alone.
People like to wrap Hamas around the necks of Palestinians and say that they are all responsible for this. October 7th. Many of Netanyahu's cabinet have suggested this some out and out have said it. They justify mass punishment based or starvation and more attacks . That is no more realistic than to say every Israeli is responsible for the genocide occurring presently. To be totally fair, the last time anyone could have voted for Hamas in an election was the legislative elections in 2006. That election was very close, hardly a big mandate for Hamas who won 44.45% of the vote and 47 seats to opposition Fatah who won 45 seats.
It is worth noting that was 18 years ago. Any chold under 18 years of age would not have even been able to vote in that election. Still I see persons reportedly saying all children over 4 deserve to starve to death. Yet, I saw last night reports of a two month old infant that was brought to a facility and died of malnourishment. It's funny how bombs and tanks and snipers and starvation can know the ages of witch kids deserve to die.
But let me return to my original point. Rather than eradicate Hamas, the totally mentally bankrupt leadership in Israel is only making more enemies.
The whole Apartheid game Israel has played for years has worked against them. It has done so much damage that they don't know how to get off this train they have been driving.
I see some individual Israeli and Palestinians in mutual dialogue. I personally know many Jews here in the states that are appalled by what is happening and Ii think these are signs of hope. I want to believe that. But my God a whole fucking mountain range is separating them and there are still snipers on those peeks that don't even want to see it happn.
