‘Modern Anti-Semitism in the Guise of Justice’
Examining Statement of Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev
RESPONDING TO ICC WARRANTS AGAINST NETANYAHU AND GALLANT
It was perhaps not surprising that we would hear sharp rebuke from Israeli officials to the World Court’s warrants but they have had some time to pratice their defense. One by Miri Regev, underscores a line that we hear so often these days, but is old, tired, worn out, and so off the mark.
People have been openly debating the use of the term anti semitic a lot these days. We have seen Republican members of congress and others make blistering acquisitions of anti semitism directed at academic institutions. So this is a good time and place to meet the term and how it is used head on.
Merriam-Webster defines it this way: an·ti-Sem·i·tism
ˌan-tē-ˈse-mə-ˌti-zəm,
variants or less commonly antisemitism: hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group
To be precise, antisemitism is alive and well in the United States and eleswhere around the world. It is deplorable and should not be tolerated.
