Police Respond to Campus Protests
Students press a message that has become international.
Calls for cease fire in Gaza, calls to divest from Israeli & military industry supplying Israel with weapons have occurred across this country, Europe and elsewhere.
I had to laugh when NYPD Deputy Commissioner of operations Kaz Daugherty spoke to reporters and said, there is “somebody” or “some organization” behind the massive movement are taking over schools, and academic buildings, chanting antisemitic slogans. How out of touch is this guy?
First, if you want to boil it down to one person, than I guess you could say Netanyahu. He is the lighten rod for genocide in Gaza. He has launched a war against Hamas, but he has used punishment of the civilian population, first by cutting off water. Stopping shipments of food. Carpet bombed civilian targets — Houses, schools, medical facilities, cultural and religious sites, refugee camps. More than 34,000 dead most children and women.
Second, I would say this movement has been pretty organic. And it is international. Doesn’t he follow current events? He’s probably too young to know about Vietnam protests in America.
I would like to have a sit down chat with this guy. I’m sure he has heard some hateful stuff, but this protest is not about hating Jews…
