Pompeo Pompous As Ever

Peddling his book, Mike Pompeo, lacking a humble bone in him, has blasted the press’s portrayal of the late journalist Jamal Khashoggi whose brutal death at the hands of Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud otherwise known as MBS.
Pompeo in his official capacity for this country played footsie with MBS rather than taking him to task for the high-profile murder.
Pompeo’s view was that of an activist and not a journalist. He indicated in an NBC news piece that Khashoggi did not deserve to die, but implied he was not “all that.” He described him as a journalist in the sense that he had stuff published.
Yes, he was no doubt a thorn in the side of MBS. Pompeo did not have the courage to respond as a U.S. official should have publicly to the brutality of the act.
Pompeo occasionally likes to envision himself as a contender for the Republican nomination for president. To the extent that he could be considered a contender, his body build aside, it would certainly be in a lightweight division.
Pompeo has a whole host of ethical misgivings to answer for. His value to the Trump administration is mostly his posture of a boot licker. His tenure in the foreign service can best be described as an amateur and more honestly, criminal.
