That they would respond? No, Of course not. You invote the lessons of the holocost like this is a reason thay for their reaction. I find that absurd. Jews more than anyone should have learned that Killing 34,000 plus civilians - mostly children and women were not a measured response. There are those who tell us that theere is some moral equivelancy between the actions of Hamas and the response by Israel.
On further examination, we start with Israel cutting off water, and drying up food and medical supplies .
Withholding water and food is absign of Genocide. Add to that the indescriminent carpet bombing that is killing civilians and leveling their housing stock. Then consider that over 200 cultural sites have been leveled. The attacks on refugee camps, the attacks on aid workers, on press, and medical professionsla all adds up ti Genocide.
Then we see the violence in the West Bank where settlers are moving in and destroying homes and crops of palestinians. What part of this seems okay?
There should be nothing surprising about the Campus protesters. Israel extracting a high price from civilians. Some of the very comment by Camnet members have only inflamed the world view of the government under Netanyahu with comments that any Palastanian over 4 years of age should be killed. Reall?
Yes, Israel has been an ally for 70 years. They have also been the recipient of the highest amount of U.S. military aid given anyone since WWII. Many of us object to the use of this aid to cary out an orchastrated attack on Palestinians. I can support American Aid to protect Israel defesively with the Iron Dome, but enough of ofensive weapons. Not for the way they are using them.
Where is the understanding of the actions against their Jewish ancesters in the context of what the Government is doing right now?
I will go so far as to predict that in the history of the world, the protesters will be on the right side of history,
As long as the IDF continues orchastrated war crimes, under the “Leahy Laws” we are prohibited from giving assistance to foreign security force units when there is credible information that the unit has committed a “gross violation of human rights” We are there...
