Israeli Citizens Are Increasing Protests Over Government
There is no united fron In the Israeli War Cabinet any longer. The Associated Press is reporting that Benny Gantz, a centrist member of Israel’s three-member War Cabinet, has said he will resign from the government if these is not a new plan in three weeks’ time for the War in Gaza. Such a move would drive Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu closer to the hard right members if the government and perhaps lead to new elections.
What Is Gantz Wanting?
For Starters,
- return of hostages.
- ending Hamas’ rule.
- demilitarizing the Gaza Strip.
- establishing an international administration of civilian affairs with American, European, Arab and Palestinian cooperation.
- supports efforts to normalize relations with Saudi Arabia.
- widen military service to all Israelis.
“If you choose the path of fanatics and lead the entire nation to the abyss — we will be forced to quit the government,” Said Gantz.
