The Supreme Court Conducted an Investigation, You Say —

What do you do with a Leaky Court?

The Investigation is as flawed a mess as the court itself. One might ask what were they thinking when it comes to the investigation of the leak of the Dobbs material well ahead of the decision’s announcement by the court. This was no investigation. It was an in-house sham.

The investigation we are told was conducted by the marshal of the Supreme Court, Col. Gail A. Curley. There is no indication that the marshal is even qualified to conduct an investigation of this magnitude. The title is a bit of a misnomer. She is not, for example, a law enforcement person at all.

A 23-page report released, was said the court’s methodology was judged to be thorough by Michael Chertoff of the Chertoff Group, who was asked to review the marshal of the court’s investigative results. I beg to differ.

An in-house investigation leaves both a bad taste in the mouth and further speculation. Something this court doesn’t need. It is a fact that the court has seen its public reputation fall like a skydiver in free fall. Only 25% of adults have confidence in the supreme. That’s pretty much in the gutter, and that is a decrease from a year ago of 36% according to Gallup Polls.
