U.S.-Based Palestinian Rights Organization Gets Favorable Ruling

A Jewish National Fund (JNF) effort to have a Palestinian Rights organization deemed to be providing material support for terrorism actions including its support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, was dismissed and unanimously affirmed by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. The Supreme Court declined to take up the case letting the Appeals Court Decision stand.

This matter is not new and has been working its way through the courts. Persons favoring the court ruling say that this has been a part of a larger effort to criminalize and silence those who offer their support for the Palestinian people.

Boycotts of Israeli interests and divestiture of funds in University Investment portfolios have been hotly contested issues and Jewish organizations have sought to paint such boycotts as antisemitic.

It gets back to the question of, Is such a boycott a product of hatred of Jews, or about taking issue with the policies of the Israeli government. The ruling is a loss for the JNF. Jewish lobby efforts have been intense for years in the U.S. to support American Military aid for Israel. They have been successful in a long leader of U.S. military funds by a foreign country for years now.

The magnitude of the war in Gaza presently has had many members of Congress receiving pressure to stop the blank check with taxpayers’ dollars.
