EDMOND NORTH HIGH SCHOOL — OLD STORY, STILL PEOPLE WILL SEE WHAT THEY WANT AND MISS THE POINT

Caleb Horst, is a senior at Edmond North High School in Edmond, Oakland. Caleb loves his country. He says so, and I take him at his word. There is absolutely nothing wrong with loving our country. I do, myself.

This is not a story about loving your country. It’s a story about how we miss the obvious and want to whine and believe we are being attacked for our love of country by some left leaning conspiracy to attack out patriotism.

This is a story about how so much today is blown out of proportion and people rally against some believed injustice that is really not there.

It’s and example of how people come to believe for example that the 2020 election was stolen when all the evidence is to the contrary, and still people want to see what they want to see.

The Edmond School District has a rule about flags on student’s vehicles. To be honest so do schools all over this country. It they don’t they should. People will put very large American Flags on the backs of their pickup trucks. Yes, when they drive down the street with Old Glory flapping in the wind, that flag can give you goose bumps.

Held captive in the Midwest but I love San Francisco, black coffee, chardonnay and diet coke. My vice is SF Giants baseball. I'm the poet you are running from.
