White House Cancels Meeting

Scolds Netanyahu for behavioral splitting actions

There is a term in the mental health profession for when a patient engages in “staff splitting,” a practice whereby the patient intentionally engages in behaviors that cause tension or strife between staff members on matters on dealing with said patient. This is a game Netanyahu has played many times — including ignoring general common protocols, like soliciting an invitation from the majority party to come and address the House without consent of the minority members, or the administration. Such an invitation was again extended by the Speaker on June 24.

Axios is reporting that The White House had cancelled a high-level U.S.-Israel meeting scheduled for Thursday about Iran. The action came after Israeli Prime Minister released a video recording that claims the U.S. is withholding military aid. Top advisers to the President were enraged at the video a message U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein personally told Netanyahu only hours after it was published, that it was wrong. This was confirmed by two sources according to Axios news.

Administration officials indicated that the video caused a lot of damage. Israeli officials were already en route to Washington when the meeting was cancelled.

“This decision makes it clear that there are consequences for pulling such stunts.” A sign that Netanyahu has passed the limits on Biden’s patience with him. He has constantly been thumbing his nose at Biden.
