Is There an INFP in Your Life?
Some time back I wrote a piece titled THE INFP UNICORN in which I discussed some of the characteristics of an INFP. I will again offer the disclaimer that as an INFP myself, it would be reasonable to assume the possibility of a bias in this article.
I know there are people who will never be caught dead taking a Briggs-Myers Personality test. But there are many people who put a great deal of stock in the test and employers who even use it within their Human Resources Departments. I would encourage everyone to explore a little information about the system and conclude for themselves if they see value in knowing more about the driving forces of their own personality or that of a friend, spouse, or co-worker.
Each one of the 16 personality types has some attributes that are common within the identified personality type. As it happens my results in multiple testing have concluded I am an INFP. Those letters stand for Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting.
The INFP is generally: Self-aware, loyal and committed, work well in solitude, emotionally intelligent, open-minded and flexible, look for win-win situations, compassionate and empathetic, deeply loving and caring, seem to always be searching for the underlying truth in things, have high expectations and seldom give themselves due credit, they are often referred to as the mediator…
